Time past very fast and today was our 3rd day in Maldives. We tried to capture some sunrise pictures but the weather was not convincing. It was a cloudy day. We even more worried that we could not manage to join the Blue Lagoon excursion. So we really prayed hard to God on that morning... We knew that God is always by our side...and brighter our day...
We bothered no more and continued with our preparation for the trip...Minutes after minutes,we waited and prayed... The dark clouds were slowly blown away and finally, the day turned to sunny! of coz we were so happy and what else?! We geared up for the Blue Lagoon trip!
In the trip, we visited Thulusdhoo Island first before reaching the Blue Lagoon. Thulusdhoo Island is part of the Northern Male atoll. About 1200 people live in that island, 200 of them arrived after the tsunami disaster. The main activities there are fishing and shipbuilding. Nowadays, this island is also called Coke-Cola Island because a factory of coke-cola has been built over there.
SY is showing one of the old buildings which was built from corals. The corals were crashed to make them like cement. It is a good move that the Maldivian Government has prohibited that culture nowadays and emphasized on the cement usage in building the houses/buildings.
Maldivian Movie Poster...wasted that we did not visit their cinema... wondering how is the cinema look like...
The school: it consists of elementary and high school. Their education is linked to British system, so English is important for them too!
The houses were built by the Maldivian Government for the 200 Maldivians who lost their home after tsunami
Heading to a sandbank, the best place to relax body, mind, and soul...but we just prefer to capture more special moments there!
After lunch, we joined another boat trip for snorkeling and the site was quite near to Kani Island. A bit draw back at this site as the corals were not as good as those found at the North Male atoll. The corals nearby the high populated area are always being disturbed. Although the corals were not so attractive here, we still managed to come across with a moray eel and a turtle.
To enjoy our honeymoon to the fullest, we had the Yuka's Special Drink once again at the beach! Kind of romantic and relaxing at the same time...
Night market, held once a week in Club Med Kani. The local Maldivians from other islands will come over to set up stalls and sell souvenirs to the guests.
To be continued...
