Honeymoon - Day 4

1st June 2010

Today was the 4th day in Maldives. Early in the morning, while other guests were still sound asleep, we wake up with a hope that the weather would be better than yesterday. We would love to have sunrise photography at the island. So we planned for second attempt. Since 5 am, we prepared ourselves and standby the cameras at the beach...and waited for the moment. During that period, we donated pretty much of our blood to the mosquitoes!

The beautiful moment was created from 5.40 am onwards. Although the sky was covered by the thick clouds, we saw the beauty of the sunrise moment beyond our expectation! We quickly captured the moment and glad that we were able to witness the sunrise together in the Little Heaven. It was extremely perfect!

The sun was up and we had our final post before heading back to our room to get ready for another exciting activity of the day...a trip to Male, the capital city of Maldives.

Packing up

Breakfast time!!!!

Waiting for a ride to Male

A baby shark was seen near the jetty

In the boat

Club Med GO is briefing the schedule of the trip

Indian Ocean

Male City from far

Maldives National Flag

WWII torpedo found in one of the islands in Maldives and it was kept in the Museum

National Mosque, together with us are CK and wife from Johor, and the Maldivian tour guide

Shopping area in the city... definitely not a good place for shopping coz the goods are so expensive! Goods are sold in USD

Anyhow, for remembrance purpose, we grabbed the shark teeth and some t-shirts for us to bring back to Malaysia

Waiting for a Dhoni ride to transfer us to a most spectacular ride in our life... the submarine!!!
We could not believe that we had a chance to experience a ride in a submarine... Woh!!! Fanstatic!!!~~~

Dhoni ride... the major water transport for local Maldivians

The submarine is waiting for us......wooo hooo~~~~~~~

In the submarine

The list of Maldive fishes that we might spot during the journey in underwater

92.9 feet below sea surface

We are happy that we have another new experience in life, a ride in the Whale Submarine Maldives. But on the other hand, we feel pretty sad to see most of the corals down there are not so healthy. Some died. This is obviously due to the developments which have been carried out in the city. In overall, the scenery of the underwater in that area is not attractive. We were actually expecting better than that!

Back to Club Med Kani for lunch

The most special dish for lunch, specially cooked by a Maldivian Chef - Spicy Maldivian Chicken Curry! Yummy-licious!!! Absolutely great taste! Simon had 2 bowls of rice and no interest in taking other foods...

Having lunch together with CK and Priscilla

After lunch, we spent time at the beach and had a cocktail drink...

Off shore snorkeling...

Baby lobster

Sea cucumber

Crab

Ice-cream on delivery

Preparation for tonight dinner: Theme - the White Night

Kayak time!

The view of the location for tonight dinner from off shore...excellent!

While kayaking, Sheau Yen saw some nice coral patches around that area and then we decided to go for another round of snorkeling. We managed to spot a lion fish!!!

Performance of live music

In the middle: the Maldivian Chef, Faiz, who cooked the Maldivian Chicken Curry specially for us. And...We really appreciate that!

After dinner, we attended the night show which performed by the Club Med GOs

Spotted a crab while on our way back to room...

To be continued...
