Maldives the Paradise - our destiny for Honeymoon!
We were so looking forward to this trip and counted the days to come. At last, the date of 28th May 2010 was shown on calendar and...hooorrayyy!!!... the journey had just begun. We flew to Kuala Lumpur from Tawau. We decided to take a day earlier flight to KL to secure our flight to Male, Maldives which was scheduled on 29th May 2010 at 20:05. We arrived in KLIA at 22:00 and the buggy car was waiting for us in the arrival hall to transfer us to the reception counter in Pan Pacific Hotel. We started the journey with slow pace...by enjoying the breakfast and also the services provided by the hotel (such as swimming, jacuzzi, dry & wet sauna, feet massage).

Here are some info about Maldives:
Maldives consists of approx. 1190 coral islands grouped in a double chain of 27 atolls, spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometers, making the country one of the most unique destinations in the world. The islands stretch over a distance of 700km from north to south.
The population of Maldives is approx. 320,000 (100,000 in the capital of Male), the country still remains one of the smallest independent nations in the world.
Dhivehi is the language spoken throughout the Maldives and is a language belonging to the Indo-Iranian group of languages.
Atoll: the word come from Dhivehi and is an island of coral that encircles a lagoon partially or completely. The process of atoll formation may take as long as 30,000,000 years to occur. The word atoll first recorded use in English was in 1625 as atollon by Charles Darwin. He is the most important guy in discovering that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors and proposed the scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from the process that he called natural selection which we are till using it until today. Interesting right?
The boat ride took approx. 20 minutes
To be continued...
