On June 8 2010, we had a work trip to Indonesia. We went to Jakarta for a meeting and then to Anyer for our work. Anyer is located at the far west of Jawa and it is the nearest unpolluted beach around Jakarta. So every weekend, Anyer is always jam-pack with local tourists from Jakarta.
Beach at Anyer with the view of Sunda strait and when the sky is clear, one can see the legendary Mount Krakatau.
MONAS (National Monument) is a 422 ft (128.7 m) tower in the center of Merdeka Squera, Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesian's independence. Construction began in 1961 under the direction of President Sukarno and the monument was opened to the public in 1975. It is topped by a flame covered with gold foil.
